The Slickerz Story
DMV City Slickerz began in early 2025 as a pursuit for healthy connection. A group of friends wanted a positive alternative where joy in celebrating culture and community took priority. What started with a small circle dancing in a local park (Alethia Tanner Park in NE) &Â grew into something far more profound! A sanctuary for souls across DC, Maryland, and Virginia looking for community.
What we built isn't just a dance squad, it's a community. We call everyone who joins us 'Cousin' because that feeling of belonging is at the core of our culture. Today, we are a diverse community of veterans, young professionals, and families, all using the power of line dancing to foster wellness, celebrate culture, and build lasting community connections.

About the Organization
DMV City Slickerz, LLC is a community-based line dance group specializing in high-energy, inclusive social experiences across the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia metro region. With a strong focus on accessible movement, community building, and joyful participation, the DMV City Slickerz are best known for our line-dancing activations, pop-up experiences, and hosting social events for our DMV Cousinz collective that welcome participants of all ages and skill levels.

With an 11-member core performing roster and extensive years of dance training, DMV City Slickerz draws on both individual experience and a shared passion for movement. Our programming combines structured facilitation with a welcoming, celebratory atmosphere, making us a strong partner for organizations seeking authentic engagement and a genuine cultural experience.
